Elements and Texture

I’ve been playing in Elements 8–and I think I’m getting a little of the hang of MCP’s Texture Applicator. I pulled this texture from a Flickr group; there is an amazing assortment of free textures out there! The picture is of my cat Bash, who died in 2007. For some unexplainable reason, I took tons of pictures of him with my film camera, but only a handful with my digital. The ones I have were taken indoor, with flash, and they really aren’t great. But when I added texture to this one, it turned it into an artsy portrait. Bit by bit, I’m learning Elements… and someday I’m going to say that I’ve mastered it!

  1. Very nice.

  2. The retouched photo looks like a Winslow Homer water color. What did the cat think?
